What It Felt like
Kissing you felt like poetry,
So I wrote a ballad by your name.
Holding you felt like eternity,
So I stopped counting the moments that were wasted on odd days
Laying next to you felt
Somewhat like home
The kind of comfort that I yearned to return to
As soon as I left your side..
And when you held me with assurance
I felt like art
And so look at the masterpiece you made
And when you smiled back with a tired forehead and an anxious set of hands
It felt like waves
And so my heart churned out a million oceans
When you touched the back of my hand with yours
It fely like the breeze of summer
And so look at the weather
That went from stone cold to glowing sun
But tonight
You looked completely different
Sounded so foreign I had to look twice to make sure its you
The halo that sat on your head
Lit an unfamiliar light
The resemblance was uncanny,
But you looked nothing of a heaven descent
Tonight,
You felt different
And so
Darkness,
I became.
