The Only Mess You Can't Clean Up Is The One In Your Head
'The only mess you can't clean up is the one in your head'
Bad decisions,
bad organisation,
bad communication,
bad interpretation,
bad of anything isn't nearly as horrendous as you think it is.
Because in the end, it's fixable.
It will take time, efforts, people, frustration.
But sooner or later,
you can align your life just right,
or somewhat close enough to be content with it.
Like what were the chances of the asteroid missing Earth by some few miles?
You'd think, close to none.
But well, it did, and during it's inception, earth escaped it's destruction.
It's in the nature of people, like it is in the nature of the land we stand on, to be able to address a degree of issues with sheer luck & natural selection.
So what's bothering you?
If you know you can change it, nothing should be bother you.
But your head? That's a different universe all together.
A universe that you're in control of.
And oh!
How easy it is to predict the fate of things man can control.
We do evolve at precipice, I agree.
But as history stands witness,
things that humans control are driven to doom, sooner or later.
So you refuse to accept the power or dominance that you can assert on your mind.
Look around you for proof.
Look into yourself for confirmation.
How many times,
Just how many times
Has something that let you down
Crept into your mind
In the middle of the night, just when you're about to sleep.
How many of those times, did you let it happen, because well,
You couldnt think anything better could be done about it.
That's the mess people write stories about.
That's the mess that inspires poetry.
But is it worth the tears that follow?
The sleepless nights and the perverted sense of self and othwra?
The selfloathing?
Thats for you to decide, all that I need to say is
You're in control of your thoughts.
Complying to the science behind the division of conscious and unconscious thoughts, I'd correct myself and say-
You are in control of your conscious thoughts.
You can drive your mind, lead it to wherever you want it to take you.
What you can't do is,
You can't say no to pathology, of course.
You can't modify organic lesions.
There is science to it, there is a fine line between disease and not diseased.
Everything is modifiable, but once beyond the line,
Of course, efforts from self are not enough,
And thats where the centuries of science behind medicine comes into play.
But as long as your brain hasnt crossed the boundaries that decide the need for medical intervention,
You can take control.
You certainly do have the ability.
But the choice to rule your head or to let it rule you
Is truly yours.
