Silken thread
I would so much like to believe
That there exists
A silken thread
Of the brightest shade of golden
That tie us up
To those people that we're meant to love.
That no matter where we go,
There exists a pull
Something like the gravity
That keeps us from straying afar
That always keeps us home
Spun out of magic
Tied tender
When tugged too hard
Leaves you with a yearning
Undoubtedly you would know
Somebody is seeking you
Just the way you seek somebody.
Somebody is hurting
In ways that you know how to fix
And the fire that has been burning you inside out
The wound that's been open
For twenty one good years
Can be closed by someone,
After all.
So are we truly held by a thread
Because I can promise I have felt the urge
To let go of whatever held me back
To break free of this certain feeling of uncertainty
But at the same time
I am so sure of the threads
That's keeping me close
To something that I don't know of
Because The will to go on
Always seems to overpower
My thoughts to give away.
A little touch of magic
And I can see
A web of threads
All around myself
One thread around my little finger
Going into the infinity
And all I can do is walk in the direction
That the thread takes me to
I anticipate as much as I fear
Because all I see right now is a tunnel
And the light at the end seems nothing
But a distant dream
I know what it looks like
But not sure if the thread wouldn't snap till then.
