As I promised.
Swear it was a never-ending walk down a secluded road,
And I, Sopping and feeble, worn-out and giving up.
No purpose and no directions to wherever I was headed to.
There was not a single turn that I was well aware of.
That’s when you came looking out for me,
I remember well, for no one else did.
Just you.
So ever since the day, I’ve breathed in no more than what
You’ve exhaled.
Taken in whatever you gave, and given out whatever you left
lingering in the air.
For I have worn your sweat as a fragrance to my skin,
and danced to the tune of your footsteps,
And repeated your name more than the times I've ever called out anyone else,
And counted your breaths after the goodbye,
till the time the calls disconnected.
So I've held you in pride, where ever I been,
So much so that people now know me by your name.
You’re like the spring, and the summer, winter and autumn,
You’re not four seasons spanning round the year,
But you are a bit of each every single day,
Just the right amount of sunshine, rain, and breeze, and
broken leaves.
For if you were to me, just the summer,
Like people have often been,
I would be bored, like I’ve been bored of everyone else,
And would be wishing for the seasons to change again.
That’s why I hang on to you, as you’ve often asked.
You’re never redundant
You make me feel like I’m talking to someone I’ve
known for the whole of my life,
for the first time..
So were we not, just two wandering souls,
Lost, with no intentions to be found, and captured.
I bet it felt fine the way it was before,
And None was on a lookout,
But the universe has a way with coincidences.
And our souls met,
For they hid in the same dark corners..
And had the same getaway,
Were poisoned by similar venoms,
And I knew for once,
That you owned my heart and soul,
and everything that came with it,
Without seeking validation,
vow, obligation or
assurance.
That I am deemed to fly and escape and run free,
But when the day ends,
I’ll rest in you.
Only you.
